This is MyHinduPage’s knowledgebank. The lessons in these pages are grouped into a list of topics. Each topic contains lesson chapters or articles. Below you will find a short description of what you can find in each topic.
Hindu Philosophy lessons cover the Hindu understanding of God, the purpose of life and the spiritual laws that govern life. In these lessons mysteries surrounding the nature of God, the soul, the heavens, the laws of life such as the karma, dharma and reincarnation; and many other aspects of Hinduism are uncovered. In all there will be 12 chapters in the Hindu philosophy lessons series.
Hatha Yoga is the popular yoga exercise system that the world generally knows as yoga. The content in this section have instructions on how to do Hatha Yoga and their benefits. Much of the content of this section are video tutorials that are uploaded into MyHinduPage's video channel on YouTube.
Meditation, or dhyana, lessons contain guides to learn the requirements for and the practice of meditation. The video tutorials are based on the traditional Ashtanga Yoga system of God Realization that was reavealed by Sage Patanjali in his book the “Patanjali Yoga Sutras.” These tutorials will take you through the most basic steps of meditation such as how to breathe and how to chant the Aum mantra to visualizations such as the colour meditation and finally meditation techniques that can gradually help to realize God within you.
Hindu Prayers are a collection of mantra and devotional songs that you can learn and teach others especially children. The meanings of these prayers and how and when best to say them are explained. You will find prayers in Sanskrit, Tamil and English.
Hindu Stories are selected traditional Hindu stories that are drawn from the biographies of Hindu saints or from Hindu parables. These stories are selected for the spiritual inspiration and truths that they contain. Many of these stories are linked to the Hindu philosophy lessons, so you could study the philosophy lesson and then the story to gain a deeper understanding of the lesson. These stories are also written so parents can use them to teach their children Hinduism.
The Hindu Children’s Corner has resources that are specially for children. Here you will find simple prayers and Hindu beliefs that can easily be taught to children and downloadable colouring pages from My Hindu Colouring Book.
Yogic Self Development is a series of six MyHinduPage seminars aimed at teaching how to incorporate yoga techniques for personal development such as learning to concentrate, harnessing will-power, the power of acceptance and forgiveness, and achieving clarity in the subconscious. The subject matter in this topic is presented in seminar format.
There are many festivals in Hinduism. Each Hindu sect has its own festival days. On top of that, each state or region in India has unique celebrations that are incorporated as part of Hinduism. As a whole, there is at least a festival in Hinduism almost every week of the year. In this section these festivals and their significance are explored, including legends or stories behind them.
Questions and Answers includes questions on Hinduism that I encounter during my mission work and those sent to MyHinduPage by readers. It is organized according to topics such as questions on Hindu philosophy, questions on Hindu culture and questions on yoga and meditation. Insights into Hinduism are articles that provide deeper understanding of concepts or more information on certain subjects within an article of MyHinduPage site. This section is the collection page for all the insights that support the articles in MyHinduPage. The subject matter is generally philosophically technical as it explores a particular subject in detail.
